Manchester Orchestra set a specific goal for their fourth album. “We wanted to make the kind of album that’s missing at this time in rock,” says frontman Andy Hull. “Something that’s just brutal and pounding you over the head with every track, something unrelenting and unapologetic.” Enter Cope, the Atlanta outfit’s latest LP, an 11-track set that blends white-knuckle energy, full-throated vocals, and tightly fastened, radio-friendly rock.

Due out April 1 via Loma Vista, the fast-approaching full-length follows 2011’s Simple Math, a record that, according to Hull, possessed “a palette with each song a different color.” WithCope, which was recorded in an ATL house that the band themselves converted into a studio, Manchester Orchestra chose to adopt a new color scheme. “I wanted this to be black and red the whole time,” Hull says. “Our mission statement was to make a crazy-loud rock record… This album was about being cool with dedicating yourself to something and sticking through with it.”

The band has already shared a few songs from their newest album (“Top Notch,” the title track, and “Every Stone”), but now they’ve shared the entire collection. Stream Cope in its entirety above, and pre-order the album through iTunes.
